5 Perfect Outfits for Your Littles (For All Year Long)

5 Perfect Outfits for Your Littles (For All Year Long)

Each year is a storybook full of seasons and weather patterns for your child to explore. From collecting leaves in the autumn to dipping toes in the surf in the summer, there’s just so much for kiddos to discover in the great outdoors. That being said, "the great outdoors” can pose real difficulties as well as real opportunities. It’s crucial that you keep a more watchful eye. It’s also crucial that you ensure your child is suitably dressed for the day’s weather and all its unpredictability. That’s where we’re happy to offer you and your family designer toddler clothes that’ll stand the test of time! Our creative team at Miki Miette is always trying to figure out ways for littles to get creative with their outfits without sacrificing perfect comfort during all activities. Want to keep your child looking cute as a button every single season of the year? We’ve compiled a list of outfits that balance trendiness with sufficient coverage so that you can focus on planning your next picturesque excursion… And the next, and the next! Warm Weather In warm weather, look for designer toddler clothes that satisfy the following: sun proof, well-ventilated (but not too ventilated) and activity-friendly. Make sure to use sunscreen — zinc oxide sunscreen is a great non-toxic choice! 1. Joggers and A Tee Shirt Joggers are some of our favorite bottoms around because they’re comfy enough for your little slug to snooze in while also being snazzy enough for playtime wear. Find joggers in your child’s favorite pattern or color so that he can just throw them on, then shrug into a tee shirt, and go. Shorts also work great, of course, but we love how joggers keep our kiddos’ knees safe as they romp and tumble. 2. Playdress and Leggings Some of the best designer toddler clothes are adorable because they are classic. Simple, pilgrim-style dresses are some of our fave items to prepare for our little gals in the summer. This summer, look for unrestrictive A-line dresses with machine washable cotton fabric. Pockets are a bonus, too, for all those seashells and stones she’ll be collecting. For high-activity days, we recommend pairing the dress with leggings to maximize her range of movement. Cold Weather When the chilly days hit, layering is your key to success. Do prepare that thick jacket, but also look for cozy designer toddler clothes to wear underneath. Pile on the hats and other cold weather accessories, too! 1. Pullover Sweatshirts And Joggers In the chilly weather, we love stepping outside with our little ones clad in sweatshirts and joggers. Sure, it isn’t the most stylish outfit in the universe, but chilly, windy days are more about coziness (preferably by a fireplace) than fashion, in our book. One of the great things about this outfit is that both the tops and bottoms are roomy enough for you to layer over thermal underwear. 2. Winter Coat And Snow Pants If you live in a climate with snow, then a heavy winter coat and snow pants are musts for your children. Your little ones may protest, but jeans and a hoodie simply won’t do when your kid starts tumbling around in snow, as munchkins tend to do. Look for options at trusted designer toddler clothes stores if you want the best in quality and style. Transitional Weather Some seasons give us hot days and some give us cold days, but what do you do during the tricky spring and fall seasons when the weather can shift at the flip of a switch? 1. Button Up Shirt And Jeans Dress your child in layers the way you dress in layers during transitional weather. On days with unpredictable weather, you can put together a great go-to outfit by pairing a thermal raglan shirt with a cute button-up and elastic-band jeans. Not only is every layer stylish, but your child is also prepared for any shift in the wind. For high-activity days, just replace that button up shirt with a hoodie! Browse Trendy Designer Toddler Clothes For Every Season As mommies, we know that we can prepare all we want, and we’ll still get caught off guard in the great outdoors. Unexpected showers will happen and our little ones WILL get wet; spills will happen and we WILL have to sacrifice our personal button up shirts to re-clothe our hatchlings. With the weather-friendly outfits outlined on this page, however, you will be set for most days. Head to our collection now to begin shopping for designer toddler clothes worthy of your adventures with baby this year!

Show Your Mama Some Sweetness!

Show Your Mama Some Sweetness!

Mother’s Day is this weekend and we’ve got a sweet lineup of recipes inspired by some of our boys and girls spring outfits! So whether you need a last minute idea for a Mother’s Day gift, or you just feel like whipping up some treats for yourself, look no further than our list of delectable delicacies below!   Up first, is a Rainbow Brite inspired cupcake! Our little girls Rainbow Brite collection is inspired by our love of all things 80s, and the detailing on the little girls dresses, rompers, shirts and more include rainbow striping and starry prints. We found just the perfect cupcakes to match the fun, brightness of Rainbow Brite! These cupcakes are as delicious as they are colorful, and the best part is, they only look like they took forever to make! One batch of batter is used to make five different colors, which you layer up and bake just like a normal cupcake! Batter up!   Ube, or purple yam, is very popular in Philippine cuisine, and is very often found in sweet dishes and desserts because of its naturally sweet flavor. We picked out these delish Ube cupcakes because of the beautiful lavender coloring that reminded us of our Yuma collection for boys and girls! With cool ikat prints and sweet pops of lavender, our little girls rompers and tops are finished with oh-so-cute hand-embroidered detailing. Check out the recipe for these purple pleasures here!   So your mom’s Vegan? Perfect! We found the most amazing vegan key lime cake recipe here! We love the bright neon green color of this cake, it totally reminds us of our Sol collection for little dudes. Neon green accents are sprinkled all over this collection of little boys shirts, pants, rompers and more! If you’re looking for a fabulously fun green cake, look no further! This particular cake has green food color added for the brightness, but the food coloring is optional. Fun tip, you could always play around with adding some matcha green tea for some extra coloring and flavor!   So your mom’s vegan and gluten-free? Even better! We found the dessert version of our Hippie at Heart collection for little gals and tweens. The pink tie-dye prints on the little girls dresses, tops and rompers are an exact match for these vegan, raw, and gluten-free Strawberry Cheesecake Bites. Packed with flavor and energy-boosting ingredients, these cheesecake bites are exactly what you didn’t know youve been missing. Made with only ¼ cup of agave syrup, these beauties get their flavor and sweetness from mejdool dates, strawberries and coconut. Good thing these are so easy to make, cause they’ll disappear in a snap! Whether you spend this weekend with your mom, dad, grandparents, aunts and uncles, or just friends, we hope that our tasty treat list has inspired you to whip up a batch of something sweet! And if you keep it all to yourself, that’s fine too. We’ll never tell.

Happy Earth Day

Happy Earth Day

We know it, you know it, your dog knows it—we can all be a little better to our planet, and that’s exactly what Earth Day is all about. No, I don’t mean being better to the earth for ONE DAY. It’s about taking that day to remind ourselves what we can do ALL YEAR to make small, impactful changes in our daily routines that will not only better our lives, but hopefully the lives of everyone and everything around us as well! We’ve got some awesome tips for you to implement this Earth Day, so read up and share these around, only good can come from it! RECYCLE, REDUCE, REUSE Ok, we’ve all heard of this one: Recycle, Reduce, Reuse (“...and close the loop!” Recycle Rex, Anyone?), but do we really practice it as much as we can? Let’s back up. This handy little phrase actually would make much more sense if we start it up in a different order: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. So, number one—reduce. Reduce the amounts of plastic containers and one-time plastics you buy during your regular trips to the market. Do you have the option of buying your mayo in a glass jar instead of a plastic one? DO THAT. Can you stop buying Ziploc bags altogether and send your little one to school with treats and sandwiches in reusable baggies like this one instead? DO THAT TOO. Do you forget to bring your reusable shopping bags, reusable tumblers and travel mugs with you when you’re out running errands?! Well, STOP DOING THAT! And don’t even get me started on plastic straws! Plastics take over 400 years to decompose, so for every piece of plastic that’s used, another one is made to take its place, and meanwhile, the first one ends up in a landfill somewhere or even in our oceans. The fewer plastics we buy, the fewer have to end up in plastic graveyards. Up next—reuse! If you do find yourself with an overabundance of plastics at home, try to find creative ways to reuse them as much as possible before going out to buy more. Reuse plastic produce bags to store unused portions of veggies! Reuse plastic bottles as mini planters or if you’re crafty enough, for any one of these brilliant ideas! The more mileage we get out of every plastic item means less time it’ll spend in a landfill or a whale’s belly, and less time before a new one needs to be produced to take its place. Finally—recycle. Once we’ve cut down as much as possible on the amount of plastics we’re bringing into our homes, and reused the heck out of the ones that are still around, the final step is recycling. We all know how to recycle, and most every place has made it easy for us to do so. Take those few extra steps to the recycling bin, take the time to read and sort properly, take responsibility and do your part. As I’m sure we’re all aware, not only plastics but also aluminum, paper, cardboard, and glass can all be recycled. Check out this awesome easy guide on the dos and don’ts of recycling here. SURFRIDER FOUNDATION This Earth Day, Miki Miette has chosen a foundation that’s near and dear to our hearts to help spread the word about saving our world’s oceans and beaches. Every summer, we spend countless hours on the beaches of LA county, soaking up the sun and drawing inspiration from the waves. Based in our shared home of sunny Southern California, the Surfrider Foundation has chapters all across the country and specifically along the coasts, dedicated to carrying out the foundation’s mission to protect and preserve our beaches, waves and coastlines. We’d like to thank and support them this Earth Day. Feel good about your purchases this weekend—10% of all sales are going directly to this awesome group of humans and together we’ll continue the effort to defend and conserve the gorgeous coastline we get to call home.   Shop for your little surfer dudes and surfer gals this weekend and feel free to check out the Surfrider Foundation website below!

Once they’re toddlers and beyond, they start coming into their own unique sense of style and can be extremely picky with what they want to wear. You know Miki Miette makes some of the comfiest kids clothes you can find for your picky little trendsetter, but did you know that we also ensure all of our pieces are incredibly easy to mix and match for kids? Not sure where to start? Think simple and start with the basics. Basic wardrobe staples might include plain tees, joggers, leggings, cardigans and hoodies. Let’s start with fashion tips for girls first! Fashion Tips for Girls One of our most popular, customer favorite pieces is the Lena legging. This ultra-comfy pant comes in a variety of colors, from charcoal grey to violet –and has an elastic waistband to make dressing for the day a breeze! Our Lena legging can be worn with our Chrissie Henley for a casual, sporty vibe or our best-selling Riley tunic for more of a fashion statement. If the weather is a bit chillier or if you’re traveling, you can easily layer our Kylie cardigan over any of our tops. The hardest part is choosing between all the yummy colors! While these are our favorite options, don’t be shy to try it your way and mix and match our kids tops and bottoms any way your want! Boys Fashion Tips Now, let’s move on to boy’s fashion tips next. Boys can be a bit easier to shop for, but they don’t compromise on comfort! Our cozy French terry cotton feels like a dream and the best part is, getting out grass stains and juice spills are a breeze in the wash. One of our favorite go-to bottoms to mix and match for kids is the Haydon jogger. It’s a slim silhouette that’s made for mixing and matching any of our tops — be it the Parker Henley or our cozy Iggy pullover. Honey Belle Pop-Up

Honey Belle Pop-Up

When we first opened the Miki Miette and Ji Intimates Flagship store back in November, we knew that we would dedicate our small space to carrying only the highest quality of curated products – many of which are handmade locally, eco-friendly and sustainable. That philosophy especially rings true for our selection of hand-picked skincare products.   When we came across Honey Belle a few months ago via a rabbit-hole internet search of “eco friendly skincare”, a love affair was born. Their website touted impressive claims that their products were curing psoriasis and eczema in long time sufferers. Many were also comfortable going make up free in public because their skin looked that good.   Iris Cherng, the founder & CEO of Honey Belle skincare came from a family of doctors so it comes as no surprise that this young entrepreneur discovered a passion for the health and beauty industry as well. Her mother started developing allergies to the harsh ingredients in commercial products & Iris herself had suffered from psoriasis. Equipped with all of the knowledge she had acquired from her parents over the years, Iris started experimenting with all-natural recipes in her kitchen and started replacing her daily products with those she made with simple organic ingredients. In no time, both her and her mother’s symptoms had dissipated & Iris knew she was onto something spectacular.   She started by sharing her handcrafted products with her friends and family, who were eager to experience the same transformative results. Before long, she found herself tapping into the eco-friendly skincare industry. A thriving business was born & Iris soon found herself traveling from farmers markets to trade shows, indie beauty expos and pop up shops all over the country.   Though we carry a vast selection of Honey Belle cult- favorite products like the ‘Foaming Face Wash’ or the ‘Hydrating Facial Tonic’, we were thrilled to host an intimate pop up shop at our boutique to share the entire face + body collection with our customers. The pop up shop was a huge success, causing us to sell out of our favorite top sellers. Stay tuned for future exciting collaborations at our boutique!
