Fall Activities for Kids

Fall season here in SoCal is a bit of a mythical concept. We’re still seeing temps in the 80s and most of us haven’t pulled out the cold weather sweaters and boots out of storage quite yet. Because of the long wait for sweater weather, LA residents eagerly await the arrival of autumn weather & all the seasonal activities that come with it that much more. If you’re like us and love creative fall family dates, but are stumped on ideas, we’ve compiled a handy bucket list of fall activities for kids that are fun for the whole family!

Bake A Pumpkin Pie Together

Kids love being little helpers in the kitchen and there is no better way to get them involved than making a delicious treat together. Pumpkin pie is the quintessential autumn dessert and baking one as a family is a great fall activities for kids.

Print your favorite recipe out, get all of the ingredients together and don’t be afraid to get a little messy! Once the pie is ready, pair with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a dollop of whip cream on top and you’ve got yourself a mouthwatering dessert everyone will love!

Go On A Nature Walk

This is a fun fall activities for kids that the entire family can do together. Find a scenic destination your family has never visited before and make a day of it! Bundle up your little ones in comfortable, cozy clothes & walking-friendly shoes and pack some snacks for the road. Bring along a nature bag so your little ones can collect rocks, sticks or pretty fall leaves along the way to bring home – these can easily double as fall craft activities you can do together later!

Visit A Pumpkin Patch

We couldn’t resist adding this one to the list! If you’re a Los Angeles local, we highly suggest the Mr. Bones Pumpkin patch right here in Culver City. This family-owned pumpkin patch brings the farm to the big city and offers tons of interactive fall activities for kids of all ages.

Your kiddos can visit the Pumpkin Village and pick out the perfect pumpkin to take home, go on a pony ride, hang out in the Teepee Village, get in the Halloween spirit with spooky face painting, ride the giant rocking horses, visit the petting zoo, get lost in the straw maze, jump in the bouncy castle, and so much more! There’s something to do for everyone and we guarantee your little ones won't want to leave!
